Whether the $59,990 Cybertruck is a “good deal” depends on your priorities, but in the current market, it is widely considered the best value-for-money configuration Tesla has released to date.

As of late February 2026, Tesla recently introduced this new Dual Motor AWD “Standard” trim. However, there is a major catch: this price is scheduled to increase after February 28, 2026.

The Value Equation: What You Get vs. What You Lose

This model is roughly $20,000 cheaper than the Premium AWD trim, yet it retains the most important performance specs.

Pros: Why it’s a “Good Deal”

  • Massive Price Drop: You get the same speed and range as the $80,000 model for $20,000 less. For many, a rear screen and leather seats aren’t worth a $20k premium.
  • Utility Intact: Unlike previous “base” models that were canceled, this one keeps the powered tonneau cover and the bed power outlets (Powershare), making it a legitimate work truck.
  • Better Availability: While more expensive trims had long waitlists, this new entry point is currently open for orders (though delivery estimates are already slipping to late 2026 due to high demand).

Cons: Why You Might Hesitate

  • Loss of Air Suspension: This is the biggest mechanical change. You lose the ability to raise or lower the truck (Extract Mode), which affects off-road clearance and ease of loading.
  • Towing Capacity: It is rated for 7,500 lbs, significantly less than the 11,000 lbs on higher trims.
  • The “10-Day” Pressure: Elon Musk has stated this price is only available for a strictly limited time. This “FOMO” marketing tactic means you have very little time to test drive or research before the price likely jumps by $5,000–$10,000.

The Verdict

If you want the Cybertruck “look” and performance without the luxury fluff, the $59,990 price point is an excellent deal compared to where pricing has been for the last two years. It brings the truck much closer to the original 2019 price promises (adjusted for inflation).

Recommendation: If you are serious, you should lock in the order before March 1st, as Tesla has officially confirmed a price hike is coming. Even if the price increases to $65,000, it would still be a better deal than the $80,000 Premium trim for most users.
